Youth Act is youth movement to end forest fire and toxic haze that has happened in Kalimantan for 19 years. There are three main programs in this campaign:
1. RAISING SOCIETY AWARENESS
We raise awareness about this by sharing information about Why fire happen in Kalimantan, about peatland, and also giving education on the danger of the haze especially particulate micro 2,5. The team goes to schools, universities and communities to do presentation and engage youth to join this movement by sharing the information they get to their beloved ones.
2. HEALTH PROTECTION
Youth Act team commit to help people who suffer worstly by the fire and haze in time of need by preparing clean room as haze shelter, distributing supplies (masks, oxycan, nutrition and medicine) and bringing medical service to villagers. if you are a doctor or nurse or anyone who has capacity to do medical check up, you are invited to join. We launch Act2Give to call out for donation and volunteers.
3. YOUTH FIREFIGHTER SQUAD
Volunteers gather to form a firefighter team which consist of young people. The members are given training on how to extinguish fire. September 2016 was their first operation and there were 25 young people have been trained under Jumpun Pambelom team. This is our real action to fight the fire!
